SELENITE GYPSUM – Laguna Guzman, Chinuahua, Mexico
Selenite Gypsum - the tan color is due to sand inclusions. Exhibits a pale colored fluorescence, with LW response being brighter; faint phosphorescence after SW irradiation may be difficult to notice.
from a dry lake bed of Laguna Guzman (Lago Guzman), Rancho Salias Terrazas, Mun. de Villa Ahumada, Chihuahua, Mexico
Measures approximately 3.25 x 3 x 2.5 inch, 7.15 oz / 83 x 76 x 63 mm, 203g
this specimen is featured on mindat, minID: A3Y-TCU

Item # A0730115 #10
To show the fluorescent response the specimen was illuminated using 6 watt 254nm (Short Wave) / 366nm (Long Wave) UVGL-58 lamp (you need a proper UV light source to observe the fluorescence, more powerful lamp = brighter response).
